This Fire pit patio features a square fire pit surrounded by the new Slatestone Paver in Bleu. What was a useless, difficult area to mow is now a beautiful space for family fun.
This is one of my favorite projects of 2012. It had a little bit of everything, unfortunately it was toward the end of the season and the block did not dry completely so the pictures do not do this project it’s full justice… We moved and installed a hot tub with a stone surround, built a retaining wall, installed an outdoor kitchen, put in a firepit surrounded by paver patio and block seat walls with backrests. We also ran PVC for gas and electric under the nearly 900 square feet of paver patio. Everything but the kitchen sink and that might be coming next year!!!
This backyard has a busy road running behind it and the owner desired a way to seperate the patio and fireplace area from the noise and view of the road. We embedded the patio and used the dirt from that excavation to create a berm that required a retaining wall and provided an area for an inset fire feature. When the hill is fully planted, it will completely shield the homeowner from the street.
This client started out installing the patio in 2010. She later added the two columns and accent lattice work. Sometimes doing projects in stages helps solidify ideas as a chance to “live” with your design through each stage is provided.
